2024 Northeast Art & Authoring Festival - Call for Entries

NEW ENGLAND -  The 2024 Book Festival has opened its call for entries to its annual program celebrating the best books of New England

Nomiation

The Festival will consider non-fiction, fiction, biography/autobiography, children's books, compilations/anthologies, young adult, how-to, cookbooks, science fiction, business, history, LGBTQ+, photography/art, poetry, unpublished, technology and spiritual/religious works.

There is no date of publication restriction. Self-published works will be accepted that are readily available for purchase. 
A $5 fee will be assessed for all author submitted works. Multiple books can be submitted to multiple categories. 
A single hard copy of all books will be required for consideration.

Award Recognition

Submitted works will be judged by a panel of the following criteria:
1. Connection to New England and the Northeast of the United States
2. Authors execution in telling the narrative
3. The overall design, quality and look and feel of the publication
4. Number of nominations.

Awards

On Sunday, August 20th an Award Ceremony will be held indoors. 
The top nominated authors will be asked to speak at the event.

About the Author's Festival 

Festival Rules: Northeast Art & Authoring Festival submissions cannot be returned. Author entries must be completed online and include a $5 payment per entry and a copy of the book. All shipping and handling costs must be borne by entrants. Please include contact information with your book so that we can notify you of its receipt.

Deadline submissions in each category must be received by the close of business on May 1, 2023. Winners in each category will be notified by on the web site. Please note that judges will read and consider all author submissions. We can not commit to reading and considering all reader nominations as they do not require the submission of a copy of the book.

Author entries must be accompanied by a non-refundable entry fee of $5 sent via PayPal or Venmo in U.S. dollars for each submission. Multiple submissions are permitted but each entry must be accompanied by a separate form and entry fee. Only a single copy of a book needs to be submitted. (Venmo Link)

No checks or cash can be accepted. We're sorry, but entries forms must be completed digitally. Books can be delivered in person or by messenger services to the Pumpkin Vines offices. 174 High Street, Suite 105, Ipswich, MA 01938. At this time e-books will not be considered. All books must be readily available to purchase in:
More than 3 brick and mortar locations OR on an online marketplace. Books only available on personal or author websites will not be considered.

Entry packages MUST include:
1) One copy of the book;
2) A copy of your official entry form or a confirmation email;
3) The entry fee or receipt for online payment;
4) Any press/marketing materials you wish to send.

AWARDS: The Northeast Art & Authoring Festival selection committee reserves the right to determine the eligibility of any submission
